Role Overview

We are currently looking for an Engineering Maintenance Manager to join a global biopharmaceutical manufacturing company based in the Kent area. As the  Engineering Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for a small team overseeing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities. 

You will also plan, budget and schedule facility modifications including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion.

Key Duties and Responsibilities


Your duties as the Engineering Maintenance Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Serve as Signatory Authorisation List (SAL) Authority for the Engineering and Maintenance (E&M) Cost Centre.
2. Set budgets, update spend forecasts, and maintain efficient use of the Maintenance Budget.
3. Lead Department quality and safety audits, maintaining records for regulatory purposes to current legislation, including Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP). Adhere to site change controls.
4. Coordinate the team to ensure shut-downs are planned and executed as per agreed timelines.
5.  Support the CI Engineer with the team, to remove recurring faults (identify root cause).

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Engineering Maintenance Manager, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. You will ideally hold an engineering qualification, either an associate degree or vocational qualification with experience coordinating maintenance for mechanical and electrical equipment.
2. Proven industry experience in a highly regulated cGMP manufacturing environment, such as the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Biopharmaceutical sectors.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with total quality systems such as QSR/GMP or ISO 9001.
