Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Head of Business Development to join a leading laboratory equipment manufacturer based in Northamptonshire. Our client offers complete customised laboratory solutions for the University, Pharmaceutical and Biotech markets. They manufacture fume hoods, incubators, freezers, refrigerators, modular systems, laminar flow and biosafety cabinets and isolators.

As the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for driving the company’s growth in the Laboratories Market through strategic planning and market analysis. The role reports into the UK Managing Director and requires someone on site 1-2 times per week. Travel will also be expected, meeting with clients around the UK

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Head of Business Development will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Analyze Laboratories’ market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
2. Develop strategic business development plans based on market analysis.
3. Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
4. Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to potential clients.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Business Development Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Life Science, Technology or Engineering related field.
2. Proven industry experience in business development, sales, or a related role in the Lab Equipment and Instruments field. Ideally selling into the University, Pharmaceutical and Biotech markets.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with strategic planning and market analysis.
