Medical Device Engineer

We are currently looking for a capable Mechanical or Product Development Engineer to join a leading medical device company based in the Cambridge area. As the Mechanical or Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of innovative drug delivery devices, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and efficacy.

Your duties as the Mechanical or Product Development Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Support the design and development of drug delivery devices.
2. Conduct risk management assessments and mitigation, including DFMEA, input to UFMEA, and assessment of critical functions.
3. Produce and justify requirement specifications for external suppliers.
4. Apply theoretical engineering knowledge to analyse and critique design concepts and solutions, identifying areas critical to function, likely failure modes, and design sensitivities.

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Mechanical or Product Development Engineer, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
2. Proven industry experience in the medical device sector.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with CAD (preferably Pro-Engineer / Creo) and associated document management systems.
