Automation Engineer

ROLE OVERVIEW
Our client is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join a leading company in the engineering industry. This remote role, with some onsite presence required at the beginning and end of the assignment, offers a unique chance to contribute to a specialised automation coding and programming project. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and optimisation of DeltaV software for biopharma R&D.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Automation Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Develop DeltaV software, focusing on recipe building from control modules, equipment modules to higher control logic such as procedures, operations, and phases, including monitoring and alarms to integrate processing equipment for biopharma R&D.
2. Support testing efforts of any required software and automation developed to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
3. Align with existing automation standards, procedures, and systems as applicable, providing advisory and consultation on best practices for control logic set-up, monitoring, and recipes.
4. Configure Kepware server and tags for equipment control and monitoring to DeltaV as required.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Automation Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in Automation Engineering, Software/Control Engineering, Chemical/Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
2. Proven industry experience in DeltaV batch creation and recipe management, with a strong understanding of control within the ISA 88 methodology framework.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with Open Platform Communication integration and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
