Data Engineer

We are currently looking for a “Data Engineer” to join a leading biotechnology company based in the Sacramento, California area. As the Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining end-to-end data and machine learning pipelines for clinical and verification studies. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Data Engineer will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements for ML, Data Science, and Analytics projects.

2. Assemble large, complex data sets from disparate sources, writing code, scripts, and queries to efficiently extract, QC, clean, harmonize, and visualize Big Data sets.

3. Write pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using Python, SQL, Spark, and AWS ‘big data’ technologies.

4. Develop and design data schemas to support Data Science team development needs and implement continuous process improvements.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Data Engineer, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

2. Extensive industry experience in developing and deploying Data and ML pipelines.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with AWS core services such as RDS, S3, API Gateway, EC2/ECS, Lambda, etc.
