

ROLE OVERVIEW
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a GCMS Technical Specialist to join a Global manufacturer of analytical instrumentation. The role is home based, reporting into our clients HQ in Bedfordshire and visiting clients across the South East of England. You can expect to travel up to 50% of the time.
The GCMS Technical Specialist is responsible for supporting the continued growth of our clients GC/GCMS business unit. You will provide a high level of customer support for instruments in the field, and customised training across the GC/GCMS product range. This role includes customer demonstrations, instrument evaluations and application support, to ensure a best in class customer service.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the GCMS Technical Specialist will be varied, however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Provide technical and application support for pre-sales and post-sales activities for all GC/GCMS product lines
2. Drive customer success for GC/GCMS solutions with a focus on further developing our quantitative Gas Chromatograph and mass spectrometry
3. Provide technical expertise and key application advice to sales representatives and assisting them in the closure of business. Provide post-sales training, method development support and troubleshooting advice
4. Providing technical proposals and tender responses to support commercial activity.
5. Deliver technical presentations and expertise during sales calls, in person meetings and present application work at conferences and seminars.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the GCMS Technical Specialist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. The successful candidate will be degree qualified within a Scientific discipline, with an emphasis on GC/GCMS knowledge and experience.
2. This will include demonstrable experience of GC/GCMS, with a focus on quantitative GC and method development.
3. In depth understanding of mass spectrometry and chromatography, with the ability to communicate these topics clearly. Strong understanding of Gas Chromatography software systems, and the ability to learn these quickly.
4. Willingness to travel (daily) and spend time away from home (each week) to support customers and colleagues.
