Lab Technician

Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Office Location: Oxford Science Park, Oxford,

Science-led company targeting the T-cell/cancer cell interface to develop new targeted cancer immunotherapies designed to treat a broad patient population. Our current focus is the development of novel T-cell therapies based on complementary and proprietary insights from interrogating the immune synapse from both angles – on the tumour side, a growing set of novel tumour specific targets; and on the T-cell side, a set of robust T-cell receptors (TCRs) with potent tumoricidal activity.

Founded in 2016 and has been well funded to invest in the build out and growth of our proprietary discovery platform and our fantastic team. The company has laboratories in Oxford, UK.


Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated individual who can play a significant role in keeping the Bio laboratories running in a safe and efficient manner.  The technician will support the Research team’s work. The successful candidate will be trained and mentored in laboratory safe and best practices to ensure the team is supported as needed. You will be exposed to working in a high-growth, fast-paced Biotech organisation and will be able to make a valuable contribution in the search for meaningful therapies for patients suffering with cancer.


You will need to:
  • Take a hands-on approach to support the multi-functional groups.
  • Be a keen learner, able to work collaboratively and interact well with the Research team.
  • Be highly organised, proactive, and self-motivated.
  • Able to follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure compliance/ assist with EH&S measures, and actively contribute to the management of our lab safety culture.
  • Contribute to a vibrant and innovative working environment where improvements and new ideas are adopted and freely shared among the teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ordering and stock management of laboratory consumables.
  • Goods in duties to include receipt of deliveries and internal distribution.
  • Maintenance of laboratory spaces for tidiness and efficient organisation.
  • Day-to-day maintenance of equipment and/or hosting maintenance engineers
  • Supporting the implementation of Health & Safety measures and processes in the laboratories
  • Identity potential areas of improvements and discuss with the group possible solutions.
  • Work closely with laboratory staff and Function Heads across research to ensure smooth laboratory operations.

Role Requirements: 
  • Previous experience working as a Lab Technician is essential for this role.
  • Problem solving attitude.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Keen learner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
