

Senior Financial Operations Engineer

Project/Department Description and responsibilities
As a FinOps Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the financial operations within the Infrastructure & Operations department. You will work closely with various teams to optimize the use of on-prem and cloud resources, reduce waste, and manage costs efficiently.
Primary Tasks and responsibilities
• Collaborate with financial controlling, accounting, procurement, architecture and engineering teams to implement FinOps capabilities such as cost labelling, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Provide a clear budget view (actuals and forecast) to the Delivery Managers / Budget owners inside Infrastructure & Operations.
• Insure an efficient SAM (Software Asset Management) for all I&O suppliers including audit compliance and yearly renewals.
• Support Product Owners and Project Managers during new project studies by providing them with relevant business case information.
• Be a key contributor to the yearly budget exercise.
• Analyze OPEX and CAPEX costs and identify cost optimization opportunities.
• Set up cost allocation and chargeback mechanisms.
• Identify and resolve cost anomalies and facilitate resource optimization.
• Promote a culture of cost awareness within the organization.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions to promote cost efficiency.
• Stay up to date with FinOps best practices and industry trends and share this knowledge with the broader team.
• Assist in estimating costs for future projects and optimizing resource usage.
Must have
Strong knowledge of the IT infrastructure and public cloud ecosystems.

MS Cloud costing Ervaring (Azure)
AWS costing ervaring
SAM
Strong knowledge and proven experience in Software Asset Management.
Ensure an efficient SAM (Software Asset Management) for all I&O suppliers including audit compliance and yearly renewals.
Be a key contributor to the yearly budget exercise.
Secondary Tasks and responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of the IT infrastructure and public cloud ecosystems.
• Programming skills, particularly in querying cost-related REST APIs, are desirable.

Language proficiencies
• FR and Dutch (Good knowledge of one of the national languages is a must have)
• Good notion of ENG
