We are currently looking for a "Computational Biologist" to join a leading computational drug discovery company based in the London area. As the Computational Biologist, you will be responsible for driving the translational strategy and enhancing the company's capabilities in developing next-generation medicines.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Computational Biologist will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Lead as a technical expert, making key contributions to translational strategy while collaborating with the wider team to ensure alignment and support.
2. Drive the strategic evaluation and prioritisation of therapeutic targets in neurology and oncology by identifying and integrating diverse data sources (such as whole-genome sequencing, single-cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics, and CRISPR screens), and leveraging biological knowledge.
3. Guide the development and optimisation of pipelines for integrating multimodal data, both publicly available and proprietary, to support target validation and prioritisation.
4. Collaborate with the computational biology and software engineering teams to ensure that proof-of-concept solutions are effectively transitioned into robust, well-documented, and scalable solutions.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Computational Biologist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant PHD in a life sciences discipline such as computational biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or biology, with a strong computational element.
2. Proven industry experience in computational drug discovery in biotech, pharma, or an academic drug discovery unit.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with integrating and analysing functional genomic data for target validation and prioritisation.
