Business Development Executive

We are currently looking for a Business Development Executive to join a Global Life Sciences organisation that manufacture analytical and measuring equipment. As the Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and building strong customer relationships within the Cambridgeshire area. There will be a specific focus on Chromatography equipment, such as HPLC, LC, LC-MS, within the Pharmaceutical sector, as well as Academia.

This role is largely remote based, and you will be required to travel extensively to customers within the Cambridgeshire territory.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Business Development Executive will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Work closely with the Senior Business Specialist to Implement best practice sales methodologies to execute pre-planned sales activities effectively, focusing on quantity, direction, and quality.
2. Maintain a proficient knowledge of the relevant product portfolio, largely Chromatography equipment such as HPLC, LC, LC-MS
3. There will be a significant amount of client engagement including presales technical discussions, suggesting suitable solutions and sales qualification to closure.
4. As the Business Development Executive, you will also be responsible for presenting the company products and application solutions to customers and at marketing events.
5. Maintain the company CRM database for the territory, ensuring all activity, customer contacts, information, and sales opportunities are regularly updated.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Business Development Executive, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree qualification within a Scientific discipline, such as Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
2. Proven laboratory experience using Chromatography equipment such as HPLC, LC, LC-MS. Experience working within a sales or business development role is also desirable.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with CRM databases and sales methodologies.
