Lead Software Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Automation Software Engineer to join a leading pharmaceutical company based in the Inverness area. As the Lead Automation Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of automation projects covering the complete life cycle of PLC, SCADA, HMI, Batch, and DCS industrial control systems.

You will also provide support to sales and proposals, business development, process/project engineering, and general project execution across a wide range of industries in the hygienic processing sectors including Brewing, Distilling, Pharmaceutical, and Food.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Lead Software Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Support and assist the Automation Software Manager with all aspects of the department, ensuring both company and client Health & Safety standards are upheld.

2. Manage the operational activities of the Automation Software team, including resource allocation, recruitment, and training.

3. Take ownership and responsibility for automation aspects of projects, ensuring projects are delivered to specification and project program.

4. Assist with planning, including resourcing, budgets, technical guidance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Lead Software Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in Systems Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or Computer Science.

2. Extensive industry experience in Control System Engineering, preferably within the hygienic process industries.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with PLC, SCADA, HMI, Batch, and DCS industrial control systems.
